24th Annual Surgical Pathology Workshop

February 8–11, 2009 : Park City, UT : 20 CME Hours

24th Annual Surgical Pathology Workshop

This course consists of short lectures and case-oriented discussions led by distinguished faculty from The University of Utah and ARUP Laboratories. Our guest speaker this year is Christopher Crum, MD, director of Women’s and Perinatal Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Ma. Compact discs with the case discussions and illustrative images (included in the cost of the workshop) may be kept by the participants. This workshop is designed to address the activities and issues faced by the surgical pathologist. The format allows participants to review the case histories and to examine representative photomicrographs.

Participants will be asked to examine microscopic images and formulate a diagnosis and patient management strategy. The faculty pathologist will then discuss the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, patient management, and other pertinent features. Cases will be selected to represent common and/or difficult diagnostic problems. There will be ample time for questions and discussion. This workshop is intended to be educational, informal, and enjoyable.
